After two years of pandemic induced disruption the club set the members a fun challenge for 2022 – the FMC Revival. Not many members took part.

For 2023 the committee decided to try again and we hope that members will join in. You can do them just with friends or we hope that you might like to join in while at the hut, or an organised day activity. We plan to have opportunities where you can take part thus combining mountaineering with a good social event. The “summits” have been chosen so
that even young children or less active old age pensioners can achieve five of the ten.

As last year there are two categories open to the members, fell summits and rock climbs. You can elect to participate in both, either or none, the choice is yours! For each category, a list of either 10 summits or 10 rock climbs has been compiled. The challenge is to complete 5 out of the 10 during the year.

To take part:

  • You have been sent the list further copies ave available from the secretary or the
    What’s On editor
  • Complete 5 out of the 10 summits or rock climbs by the end of October 2023.
  • Mark up your list, complete with a photograph of you either at the top of the rock
    climb or at the summit.
  • Submit your entry no later than 31st October 20223 by:
    o e-mail (secretary@fyldemountaineeringclub.org)
o Post: to Steve Clark, 37 Copy Lane, Caton, Lancaster LA2 9QZ

Prizes

Complete five of the ten and you will be entered in a prize draw and will have two free bed nights at a FMC hut. In addition if you complete all ten you will have four free bed nights.
The winning names for both categories will be drawn during the FMC annual dinner. The first name in each category will win a Needle Sport voucher.
Anyone who completes all ten in both categories will therefore receive eight free bed nights. Now that is a challenge!
