A Snowdon Walk from the Chester MC hut.

We have regular hut swaps with Chester MC and have reciprocal right with them.
This a walk directly from the hut, Pen Ceunant Uchaf (PCU) which is on a road out of Llanberis, you are already 200 m up the hill which is a bonus.

PCU – Moel Eilio – Foel Gron – Foel Goch – Moel Cynghorion – Clogwyn – Snowdon – Crib y Ddysgl – Garn Las – llechog – PCU

This is a favourite walk for us that we have done many times. You start a good way up the mountain by walking out of the front door and across a field to find a style over the railway. The first mountains are grassy and rounded with steep glacier formed sides. The east and north east facing cirques are botanically scientifically important. When you join the Snowdon Ranger path it is wide and featureless, if you are suitably experienced you can go up it to gain some height then go left off the big path to the top of the ridge. You will be rewarded by great views looking down the Clogwyn cliffs, there are faint tracks along the top skirting round the top and you rejoin the main path higher up.

From the summit of Crib y Ddysgl you can go down the Llanberis path and follow it down. Alternately you can descend to Garn Las for the view and then follow down to Llechog enjoying the views down to Llanberris pass.

After Llechog you can follow the skyline down but eventually a fence blocks the way, as you see that ahead you can descend to the Llanberris path.
